Giants Smash On Buehler, Take Series And First Place

Well the series finale concluded Sunday with a national broadcast on ESPN. The Dodgers Pujols' 9th inning heroics on a deep bomb were too little too late as the Giants cruised over Walker Buehler and those hideous city connect jerseys on their way to taking the season series 10 games to 9. In a series that was filled with strange plays, challenged calls and pitchers galore as the Giants were without starters for games 2 and 3, it definitely lived up to the hype as they generally do. Oracle Park was more like the Oracle Arena as plenty of Dodger fans braved the smell of cow shit and made their way north on I-5. So much so that even E-40 and everyones favorite nice guy Klay Thompson were chilling to the left of home plate like yada.
So what does this all mean. Bragging rights for now and that's about it. There is still plenty of baseball left as Dodgers manager Dave Roberts alluded to during the telecast. 25 games to be exact and according to Tankathon the Giants have the 24th toughest strength of schedule remaining with the Dodgers right behind them at 25th. While the Giants get opportunities to pick on the lowly Diamondbacks, Rockies and Cubs who shipped everyone out including our very own Kris Bryant we still have 10 games left with an unpredictable Padres squad who are in a dogfight with the Red's for the final wildcard spot not to mention 3 with the Braves who are in an NL East battle of their own. The only thing that is certain is that we are done with the Dodgers..... for now.
