The Question Marks Surrounding the Warriors 2020 Draft
Updated: Dec 22, 2020
With the 2020 NBA Draft less than an hour away and a new injury to Klay Thompson the who, what (position) and frankly when is increasingly unknown for the Warriors with the number 2 overall pick. This we do know no deal was made for a trade of said number two pick. The Bulls along with the Celtics are aggressively trying to move into the top 3 in terms of draft position. The Bulls have already offered Wendell Carter and the number 4 overall pick to slide into that second spot, while rumors circled about a potential deal

involving Marcus Smart in a package with the Celtics. The Hornets are also rumored to be looking to get the number 1 overall pick away from the Timberwolves. The consensus seems to be that the Warriors stay pat and take James Wiseman who played all of three games with the University of Memphis but has all the intangibles and fills a big man need for the Warriors. Trading back with the Bulls is also intriguing with Israel's Demi Avdija sure to be there at the 4 spot. What if Ball is there at 2 like many predict with Edwards from Georgia expected to go number 1 overall. Does the injury to Klay change anything in the Warriors front office mindset? It's doubtful. The Warriors brass is one of the best in the business. One thing we do know that by the Warriors not trading the pick before the 2pm (est) deadline they will be picking at number 2 whether they hold that pick remains to be seen. The phones will be hot.
